Among the highlights of the upcoming update are improvements to networking and stability for players in multiplayer lobbies. Based on the forum post, fixes for rubberbanding, specifically around vehicles and vehicle debris, are expected to be seen. In addition, it was noted that the update aims to collect more data to help the developers resolve latency issues that cause players to be shot even after rounding corners. Beyond these changes, it was also revealed that 343 Industries is implementing several improvements to the anti-cheat system in Halo Infinite.
Besides these fixes, the developer revealed that several improvements to the campaign would be coming with the release of this mid-season update. Problems pertaining to Achievements not working as intended are expected to be resolved. In addition, the Quick Resume feature for the game is supposed to be fixed, and game crashes are anticipated to be less frequent. On top of this, the Motion Tracker in the multiplayer game mode, Big Team Battle, will increase from 18m to 24m following feedback from the community.
While the update touches on a number of issues looking to be addressed in the future patch for Halo Infinite, it noted that this was just the beginning. According to the developers, more improvements for things such as anti-cheat and network stability will be coming down the road as well. In addition, the forum post mentioned that players should report in-game issues to the Halo Support site, as it helps the developers troubleshoot when working on patches for the gameplay.
This update is doubtlessly exciting for the many fans that have continued to play Halo Infinite since its release. However, it is worth mentioning that the developers have shipped previous patches that have proved ineffective, such as one failed patch for Big Team Battle. It will be interesting to see if this upcoming mid-season update proves effective and makes a noticeable difference for the players still logging on to play the game on a daily basis.
Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
